Here's a minor description of my Local Area Network (LAN) that I have at my home:
lightsaber : Linksys WRT54GS Broadband Router
Traffic control of the dagobah domain. Any wired/unwired transmitions made between computers involving evoen.net are secured and directed throught this guy. Running the DD-WRT firmware on this home commercial router gives it the functionality of routers ten times the price.
x-wing : 32-bit VM host
The first virtual server in the dagobah domain, running Ubuntu Linux to host this awesome website(wink, wink). This is the computer you are communicating with right now. Running Apache webserver. Stats: Ubuntu Server 8.04 LTS on VMware ESXi 3.5
death-star : Compaq Desktop
This machine originally came about in my need for more media file space. It is now my primary file server hosting personal, media, and archived data. Stats: Ubuntu Server 8.04 LTS, Pentium Celeron 500 MHz, 128 Mb RAM, 1 TB hardisk space.
r2-d2 : eMachines T1120
My baby. I remember when I first got this computer cause I finally was over 1000 MHz! It's now the only physical computer I own which run Windows and hardly gets used. Case modifications with excellent sound and display. Stats: Celeron 1.20 GHZ, 256 MB RAM, 40 GB hardrive.
c3pO : Dell Optiplex GX270
The heart of the dagobah domain. A pre-owned desktop transformed into bonafide VMware ESXi 3.5 server. Stats: VMware ESXi 3.5, Intel P4 3.0 GHz, 4.0 GB RAM, 500GB hardrive.
endor : 32-bit VM host
A virtual host which performs automated backups using Asigra and BackupPC for all host in the Dagobah System. Stats: Cent0S 5.4 on VMware ESXi 3.5
blaster : 32-bit VM host
The virtual Windows 7 desktop which hosts radiolobe, my very own internet radio station using Shoutcast and Winamp. I'm able to enjoy my entire music collection from any computer or mobile device with a broadband connection(especially my car!). It also run Windows Media Center which allows me to access multimedia files on death-star from my xbox360. Stats: Windows 7 Professional on VMware ESXi 3.5
